Building a scalable media department across 2 provinces—without the bloat
When Royal LePage Atlantic decided to centralize real estate media support, they didn’t just assemble a photography team, they built a full-service department to support 530+ agents across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
This team of 21 photographers now handles everything from listing photos and 3D virtual tours to floor plans and marketing coordination, all while managing compliance across multiple MLS boards.
But as demand grew, so did the need for more sustainable, scalable processes—and a better alternative to the rising costs of legacy 3D tour platforms.
A strategic shift that paid off
When COVID-19 put a pause on his music career, Glen MacIsaac transitioned into real estate photography. After three years in the field, he began managing the photography team at Royal LePage Atlantic in 2023. While stepping into the role, Glen noticed some inefficiencies in their existing workflow, and some costly issues:
“With another virtual tour provider, we went over our monthly limit by 4,000 scans. The hosting fees and penalties were ridiculous. And no one even flagged it.
That realization prompted a shift in approach. They transitioned away from relying heavily on their previous platform, reducing usage from 4,700 projects to just 150 and started using iGUIDE more. In their first-year prioritizing iGUIDE, they scanned over 5.3 million square feet—with no surprise storage fees.
Onboarding photographers at scale
Training a 21-person team on a new platform could have been a hurdle. Instead, Glen says it was a smooth rollout. “We made our own videos, used the tutorials and had everyone up and running fast. It was an educational year. But it’s paid off for our agents, our photographers and our bottom line.”
With iGUIDE, the capture process was faster, the equipment was easier to learn and photographers could do more in less time. That meant a quicker turnaround for agents, and a less stressful workflow for the media team.
“ iGUIDE is faster. It’s more accurate. And it’s easier for everyone.
A better client experience, too
Another unexpected advantage emerged during agent training: clients preferred the iGUIDE viewing experience. “Some agents shared that their clients felt disoriented by the in-and-out transitions of dollhouse-style tours. iGUIDE’s floor plan layout feels cleaner and easier for people to follow,” remarked Glen.
He notes that iGUIDE’s intuitive navigation made agents more confident in sharing virtual tours with clients—particularly older buyers or first-time users of 3D experiences.
Built for agent-centric scale
Royal LePage Atlantic's media department isn’t just a content engine: it’s a strategic support service that helps agents stay competitive, and sell listings faster. So far in 2025, iGUIDE has been used on 76% percent of their listings.
“In our company, iGUIDE has become the new standard for virtual tours, floor plans and accurate measurements.
With reliable equipment, accurate data, and no surprise hosting costs, the team established a scalable system that can grow with the business, without growing the workload. “We’re not just offering 3D tours. We’re supporting our agents in every part of their listing process, and iGUIDE helps us do that better.”
Looking ahead
Glen’s team remains confident in iGUIDE’s role in their long-term strategy, recently ordering an additional 5 cameras to bring their total to 12.
“Tech is important, but it’s only part of it. What matters is having a partner like iGUIDE who helps us scale and keeps things running smoothly.
From crisis to capability, Royal LePage Atlantic has built a scalable, agent-first media operation—with iGUIDE powering its foundation.
